Brief To help positively raise awareness of athletics and encourage interest and advocacy amongst sports fans, while giving a counterpoint to the perception that all athletics is tainted by cheating and drug abuse.
Solution Haymarket Network has produced a new media vehicle to transmit the real meaning of athletics that aims to increase participation in the sport leading up to the London 2012 Olympic Games and beyond.
Result Spikes was launched in early July 2008, and despite its short life so far, it’s already clear that visits to the site and subscriber numbers are extremely encouraging. Effectiveness measures have been put in place to gather data later this year.
