An online preview of the programme for tomorrow’s FA Cup final has topped off a string of football firsts for Haymarket Network.
The
interactive magazine, which incorporates video and Flash animation with statistics, interviews and specially commissioned photography, is the first interactive matchday programme that Haymarket Network has published online.
Network also published its first print programme for the
UEFA Champion’s League final in Rome this week, as well as the UEFA Cup final programme for the game between Germany’s Werder Bremen and Ukraine side Shakhtar Donetsk in Istanbul on May 20.
This year is the first that the agency has published all three programmes for football’s most prestigious European and UK competitions.
Haymarket Network has
worked with The Football Association since 2005, and has produced many of its matchday programmes in print, including the FA Cup final programme. The prompt to produce a digital preview of the programme this year came from sponsor E.ON, the UK energy company, which built the interactive magazine for its online Family Football campaign.
Jake Sargent, who worked on the
interactive magazine as part of Haymarket Network’s digital team, said: “It was a great project to take on because E.ON really wanted an interactive magazine that users could explore and enjoy online in a completely different way to a print programme. We put together a great solution that has received great feedback and made what was already strong print content work really well online.”
