Another football first takes Haymarket Network to Rome
27 May 09 09:30
Haymarket Network’s first UEFA Champions League final programme goes on sale when Manchester United Football Club, the title holder, takes on Barcelona in Rome tonight.
It is one of three official programmes for football’s top European and UK competitions to be produced this May by Haymarket Network, Haymarket Media Group’s customer agency.
Network also published its first UEFA Cup final programme for the game between Germany’s Werder Bremen and Ukraine side Shakhtar Donetsk in Istanbul on May 20 and has just released its
first digital programme preview for the FA Cup final between Chelsea and Everton at Wembley Stadium in London this weekend.
For the past six years Network has worked with
UEFA on its official magazine,
Champions, but this is the first year it has produced programmes for the association’s two top competitions – the most important in European football.
Cormac Bourne, Haymarket Network’s director of sport, said: “Haymarket Network is publishing all of football’s ‘big three’ final programmes for the first time this year, which clearly shows the strength of our football portfolio and our current status at the heart of its most prestigious club events.”
Haymarket Network took on not only editorial and publishing of the programmes, but also distribution and sales. The Champions League programme is on sale online at
www.themagazineshop.com/UCLofficialprogramme, on newsstands and also at the ground in Rome, where 67,000 fans are expected to converge tonight. The 116-page A4 programme sells for 10 euros.
