The Locker teams up with Closer

A new distribution deal means The Army's innovative recruitment publication is set to reach more readers than ever

Haymarket Network's The Locker magazine has teamed up with women's weekly title Closer for its latest issue, and is set to achieve its biggest circulation yet.

The new issue of the magazine, published on behalf of the British Army to assist in recruiting, focuses more on women's roles in the forces and will have a print run of 467,995, thanks to a distribution deal with Closer.

The magazine's usual mix of lifestyle, skills and fitness all with an Army twist, is also boosted by a guest editor, as the Network team worked with Captain Zabina Holt in order to paint the most honest portrayal of life in the Army for women, and break down a whole host of myths and misconceptions.

Captain Holt oversaw the issue, which includes features on trailblazing women, turning the outdoors into your own gym, and how a team of female army reservists are planning to conquer Antarctica this autumn.

Now available, the current issue of  The Locker will be going out with Closer on 29 August.
