Network editor Paul Simpson has scooped the prestigious Editor of the Year title at the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) Awards for DCM, the Design Council magazine.
Simpson, who regularly blogs for the Network website is no stranger to awards having previously been at the helm of trophy winning titles, Newspaper Focus, FourFourTwo, Army (now Camouflage) and Champions for the UEFA Champions League. But his BSME title, for the top editor of a customer magazine with a business readership, is the highest individual honour that Simpson has received for his work on DCM.
Simpson said: ‘The award really belongs to the whole team that produce DCM, including the client – the Design Council – who have encouraged us to push the envelope. But it was extremely gratifying to win such a prestigious award and to shake hands with the living legend that is Ronnie Corbett.’
